About Melanie

Melanie is a school board director, a US Army veteran, and has lived in the 29th district for the past 20 years. She has spent significant time in the community working on issues related to education, family homelessness, and community relations. Melanie was first elected to the Franklin-Pierce School Board in 2015 and was instrumental in the passage of the district’s $157 million bond measure in 2016, the first bond measure to pass in the district since 1998. She again played a critical role in the passage of two school levy renewals in 2018. Prior to serving as a school board director, Melanie served as a Commissioner on the Board of the Pierce County Housing Authority, and on the Board of Community Healthcare.

Melanie has worked extensively in the community, building partnerships between local churches and elementary schools to provide basic resources to students and their families, and she sees the opportunity for underrepresented communities to come together across the district to fight for policies that promote prosperity for working families.

Washington State needs leaders who will represent all communities, especially those that have been underrepresented for far too long. Melanie Morgan is the Leader WE Deserve in the 29th.
